Neiva, the capital of the Huila Department in Colombia, is a small community with a population of approximately 32,600 people whose main source of economic livelihood is the agriculture industry. The Government of Colombia executed a water and sanitation sector reform plan with the goal of improving sanitary conditions in the area. The plan provides technical assistance and financial support to improve infrastructure and management of the water services and to promote sustainable development of the area. The Louis Berger Group, in association with a Colombian firm, is responsible for supervising development of a water and sanitation master plan for Neiva, which involves the analysis of all the studies and designs associated with the master plan. LBG will also assist our client with the subsequent implementation of the master plan by monitoring all administrative, legal and financial activities, and investments, and supervising construction.
