The Joint Guam Program Office was established in 2006 to prepare the U.S. Department of Defense for the transfer of 8,000 marines and their families from Okinawa, Japan to Guam. The Louis Berger Group is providing program management services for the JGPO and in support of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and Environment under a NAVFAC Washington contract. LBG’s responsibilities include EIS review, environmental program management, master planning support, utility and infrastructure planning, integrated master scheduling, sustainability and smart growth planning; and stakeholder coordination with NAVFAC, the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Marine Corps, the governments of Japan and Guam and the United States Pacific Command. LBG professionals are an integral part of the JGPO staff, providing technical expertise as required by changing program needs, including environmental scientists, planners, engineers, schedulers and program managers.
