Buildings & Facilities

The Louis Berger Group offers state-of-the-art and cost-effective design and engineering for all types of facilities—airports, hospitals, educational institutions, residential complexes, detention facilities, industrial plants, hotels, office and commercial buildings, maintenance facilities, warehouses, postal facilities, military installations, embassies, ferry terminals, recreational facilities, and transit stations. Our international architectural practice has focused on facility designs and worldwide post-conflict rehabilitation and reconstruction, and in the United States it has focused on education and assisting several important U.S. federal agencies.

We start by developing a clear understanding of the intended use of the facilities and then make sure we design to and carefully address our clients’ needs and requirements using state-of-the-art technologies, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM). As a result, LBG is continually lauded for our achievements by professional organizations, valued by our clients and admired by our peers. In fact, we were recently ranked 16th in the Engineering News-Record’s annual report on the Top 500 Design Firms.

The size and scope of our activities enables us to be a global environmental actor and steward. Our architectural practice has been a leader in introducing sustainable multi-disciplinary design principles and green building design initiatives that incorporate life-cycle costing and planning in the construction of new facilities and the management of existing ones. Unlike many other consulting firms, LBG integrates environmental and engineering solutions with economic analysis, because we believe that our architects and planners are responsible for developing facilities that are practical, aesthetically pleasing and environmentally responsible.
