The Louis Berger Group has been involved in the planning, design and implementation of water resources projects worldwide for more than 40 years. From highland waters to coastal zones, we are working around the world to protect and manage the earth’s waters in a balanced and sustainable manner. In urban areas, we focus on the water resource utilization and impact challenges related to rapid urbanization and industrialization. In rural areas and developing countries, we help to increase access to potable water and modern sewage treatment to improve the quality of life of thousands of people. Of the Top 200 International Design Firms, we have been ranked 7th in Sewer and Wastewater and 5th in Water by the Engineering News-Record.
Much of our work involves investigation, assessment, engineering, planning, design and construction supervision measured against technical, economic, institutional, social and environmental criteria to ensure that national and regional development is sustainable. Our watershed, groundwater aquifer and river basin management strategies protect water resources and associated thriving ecosystems while improving irrigation, sanitation and potable water supplies and ensuring equitable distribution of water. Our project experience also includes analyses of how water quality and quantity interrelate with issues such as power generation, dams and levees, fisheries and terrestrial habitat, site and infrastructure drainage, recreational uses, cultural resources, land use, navigation and port projects, and contaminated site and sediment remediation.
