For more than 50 years The Louis Berger Group has supported our clients in their efforts to build their capacity through technical and management training. We have addressed on-the-job requirements of both managers and technical personnel in both formal and non-formal settings utilizing competency-based forms of instruction. Organizational development and institutional strengthening are at the core of our aspiration to work ourselves out of a job by building our clients' capabilities. LBG offers a comprehensive range of human resources development services tailored to our clients' needs. These services include needs assessments and planning of human resources development programs, management of on-site technical training programs, and organizational development services to improve operational efficiency and the use of human, financial and physical assets. We have undertaken training and capacity building programs in fragile and conflict-affected areas, for example in South Sudan, where we have established an innovative program for training road maintenance contractors and in Iraq and in the southern Philippines where we are training tens of thousands of farmers in agricultural livelihood skills.
LBG adopts a wide range of techniques and methods to accomplish training objectives based on principles of effective adult education. We have provided training in partnership with schools, training centers and firms using job-specific requirements as the basis for skills development. LBG typically teams with local organizations to provide training services to ensure local culture and institutions are respected. We build on cultural values and sensitivities of our clients and employ many different kinds of instructional methods, for example, on-site workshops, on-the-job skills training, counterpart training as part of technical assistance assignments, observation study tours, training center vocational training and internships to meet client needs.
