Project: Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge
The Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge needed to be rehabilitated and widened without changing the footprint of the bridge or impacting the environmentally sensitive Delaware River. The Louis Berger Group met this challenge by adding a northbound lane, improving safety with reconfigured ramps and innovatively applying tested technology to widen the pier. The Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge Project reflects the best of the engineering profession by addressing public needs through an innovative and sustainable approach. The staged construction maintained two lanes of traffic in each direction during all peak periods without significant impacts to the region’s commuters. Today, it relieves local traffic along the busy New Jersey–Pennsylvania corridor.
