Mr. Berger, the son of Dr. Louis “Doc” Berger, became chairman of The Louis Berger Group in 2007. Previously he was a senior vice president actively involved with corporate affairs and projects in Afghanistan, Japan, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. He is also a director of LBG’s parent company, Berger Group Holdings. Mr. Berger’s involvement in and passion for sustainable economic development began in 1972, when his three-week pavement deflection inventory near Lagos turned into a three-year assignment throughout Nigeria. His volunteer work in engineering and education has led to leadership roles such as founding trustee of The American University of Afghanistan. Mr. Berger holds an SM in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
