Vice President & Corporate Compliance and Ethics Officer

Tom NicastroDr. Nicastro is a vice president and LBG’s corporate compliance and ethics officer. He provides direction and oversight to LBG's compliance program, ensuring that it effectively prevents and detects violations of law, regulations, and the corporate Code of Business Conduct. He also identifies and assesses areas of compliance risk, conducts Code of Business Conduct Training, implements a retaliation-free internal reporting system, mentors employees, and conducts investigations. Dr. Nicastro, a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), reports to LBG's president and an independent member of the Berger Group Holdings board. Previously, Dr. Nicastro was LBG’s vice president for strategy and was involved in ongoing projects and business development in fragile states. Before joining LBG, Dr. Nicastro was a Senior Foreign Service officer and Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). He served as USAID director in Chile, where he was awarded Chile’s Medal of Freedom for his work on democracy and trade. He holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a BA in History from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY.
