Narragansett Bay Commission Combined Sewer Overflow Abatement Program

The Society of Mechanical Engineers’ Underground Construction Association chose the Narragansett Bay Commission for its 2009 Project of the Year Award. Louis Berger was the program manager and lead design manager for developing a comprehensive combined sewer overflow abatement program. The program focused on the cities of Providence, Pawtucket, and Central Falls, Rhode Island, service area.

The Project of the Year Award recognizes an individual or a group that has shown insight and understanding of underground construction in a significant project, which may include a practice, developing concepts, theories or technologies to overcome unusual problems within a project with little to no outstanding issues.
