Louis Berger received an American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of New Jersey Distinguished Engineering Excellence Award for the Richard P. Kane wetlands restoration project in the Hackensack Meadowlands. The firm was selected by EarthMark to conduct various environmental studies, prepare designs, obtain state and federal permits and supervise construction. The assignment is expected to preserve the natural environment, enhance wildlife habitat, provide local residents with a space to enjoy nature and support proposed transportation infrastructure construction.

The ACEC annual Engineering Excellence Awards competition recognizes engineering firms for projects that demonstrate a high degree of innovation, achievement and value.
