Louis Berger has been honored as the Large Sustaining Business of the Year by the D.C. Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). The firm has been a sustaining member of the D.C. Post for more than 40 years. Ammann & Whitney, a Louis Berger company, was also recognized at the event as a long-standing member. Ammann & Whitney has been involved with the D.C. Post since 1998.
This year, Louis Berger’s involvement with the post has included corporate financial sponsorship, luncheon sponsorship and raffle contributions. Additionally, Louis Berger employees have served on regional conference and special event planning committees, as well as the D.C. Post board of directors, for many years. The firm also currently supports 22 posts across the country and in the Far East, with more than 75 active members supporting national, regional and local activities. In the past year, Louis Berger also was a titanium sponsor of the 2013 National Small Business Conference in Kansas City, Mo. At the national level, Louis Berger leaders served on the national board of directors and contributed an editorial to The Military Engineer magazine, which was published in the July/August 2013 issue.
The Sustaining Business of the Year Award is given to a private sector company and member of at least two or more SAME Posts in each of the previous five years. The award recognizes organizations with representatives holding leadership positions in SAME and actively supporting mentoring programs, community service activities and involvement in SAME committees, among others.
