The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) recognized Louis Berger for continued achievements in sustainability. APTA recognized such accomplishments as the Louis Berger Sustainability Vision and Policy, the certification of more than 130 Envision Sustainability Professionals (ENV SPs), and employee engagement.

Through the Sagarmala project, the Indian government aims to promote port-led development of the country's 7,500-km coastline, potentially navigable waterways, and strategic locations on key international maritime trade routes. Louis Berger, with more than 20 years of experience in India, is well-primed to provide engineering, architecture, program and construction management, environmental planning and economic development services to help further the project’s strategic goals.

The Two Rivers, One Future campaign is a component of the New Jersey Fostering Regional Adaption through Municipal Economic Scenarios (NJ FRAMES) Project, which uses resiliency planning to help the Two Rivers Council of Mayors prepare for and respond to coastal hazards and flooding risks. In partnership with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Louis Berger has developed an online map tool that allows area residents to #MapWhatMatters in the Two Rivers region of Monmouth County, New Jersey.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has selected Louis Berger to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) for the approximately 40-kilometer-long Kundannoor-Angamaly National Highway bypass.

Louis Berger's Andy Bailey has been named CEO of SH 130 Concession Co., the private entity that operates and maintains the 41-mile southern section of State Highway 130. Strategic Value Partners LLC (SVPGlobal) is leading the new ownership group, while Louis Berger has been hired to operate and maintain the roadway. Bailey said that SH 130 Concession Co. has come out of the Chapter 11 process as a “much stronger company.” He said the new ownership is committed to investing in upgraded infrastructure and technology to improve the tollway, attract more traffic and generate more revenue.

Louis Berger Power, in partnership with the American Samoa Power Authority (ASPA) and local company Paramount Builders, opened the reconstructed Satala power plant in American Samoa. The plant provides resilient and reliable power to one of the world’s most remote islands, replacing a plant that was destroyed by a 2009 tsunami. Built by Samoans for American Samoa, the more efficient power plant should serve as a bridge to American Samoa's goal of 50% renewable energy by 2015.  More>

Sofia Berger, senior vice president for U.S. transportation, was among 17 emerging leaders participating in the American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation’s (ARTBA-TDF) 2017 Industry Leader Development Program — an intensive introduction to federal legislative and regulatory processes. From May 16-18, the 2017 class was in Washington, D.C., to urge members of Congress to find a permanent revenue fix for the Highway Trust Fund and to fully fund the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act for FY 2018.

Louis Berger will prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed Kundannoor-Angamaly national highway bypass in Kochi, a city in the state of Kerala, India. The project entails a four-lane bypass, flanked by service roads on either side, to relieve congestion on a busy commuter corridor.
