Lincoln Park Wetlands Restoration

The Lincoln Park Wetlands Restoration project restored 42 acres of wetland, stream and salt marsh habitat in the Hackensack River in northeast New Jersey, providing new habitats for fish and bird species and providing coastline support against climate change. Implemented by Louis Berger on behalf of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection with funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestments Act, the project also received strong participation and support from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and local agencies in Hudson County, NJ.

Coastal America presents awards to recognize outstanding collaborative projects and excellence in leadership for protecting, preserving and restoring the nation's coastal resources. The Partnership Award is the highest level award for environmental partnership efforts and recognizes outstanding collaborative, multi-agency and multi-stakeholder efforts that leverage and combine resources to accomplish coastal restoration, preservation, protection and education projects of national significance.
