Louis Berger won an Engineering Excellence Grand Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Metropolitan Washington for the Sheikh Zayed Street and Tunnel project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Louis Berger was selected by the Abu Dhabi Municipality to manage the $1.3 billion corridor improvement, one of the most important infrastructure improvements in the UAE. The firm coordinated with stakeholders; prepared project progress reports; maintained utilities throughout construction; managed public outreach; and ensured continued access to businesses and residences. Louis Berger also managed dewatering for the full length of the corridor and designed temporary support systems for 63 utility crossings.
