Introduction of the first suspension cable protection systems – dehumidification - in the US by Ammann & Whitney, a Louis Berger company, was highlighted in Engineering News-Record. Before Ammann & Whitney presented the state of the art system to the Maryland Transportation Authority, it was used by only 20 bridges around the world. This new system for protecting suspension cables has extended the system life by 25 to 30 years.
