MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The New York Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery has awarded Louis Berger a three-year, on-call contract for environmental review management and planning services supporting infrastructure, community reconstruction, business and housing resiliency projects across the state.
"This new engagement is a testament to Louis Berger’s efforts and commitment in advancing the Office of Storm Recovery’s resiliency-building planning and implementation programs,” said Tom Lewis, president of Louis Berger's Group operating company. “We look forward to improving New York’s emergency preparedness and upgrading its infrastructure to better withstand major weather incidents, to create a brighter, more resilient future.”
Louis Berger’s capabilities support the entire resiliency life-cycle, from resiliency preparedness and response, to long-term recovery and adaptation.
After successfully completing the first round of Community Reconstruction Plans on Long Island and New York City, Louis Berger also was awarded additional assignments by the New York Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery to help New York City communities develop Community Reconstruction Plans, under ‘Round 2’ of New York Rising’s Community Reconstruction Program.
The Community Reconstruction Program was launched in April 2013 by The New York Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery, as a bottom-up planning and implementation process to advance resiliency efforts and rebuild communities affected by Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.
