Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB), a Louis Berger affiliate, won a 2010 Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC) Canadian Consulting Engineering Award of Excellence for its work on the Nam Theun 2 Hydroelectric Project. KCB was chosen by International Design-Build Construction Consortium for the long-term effort to develop and transport up to 3,000 megawatts of hydropower from Laos to neighboring Thailand. The NT2 powers about 3 million Thai homes. Revenues from NT2 will enable Laos to further alleviate poverty and invest in education, health and infrastructure.  The project dramatically improves living conditions for 6,500 people living on the Nakati Plateau, who now have electricity and a steady water supply.

The Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards are given to projects that demonstrate a high quality of engineering, imagination and innovation. Held annually for over 40 years, they are the most prestigious mark of recognition for consulting engineers in Canada.
