MORRISTOWN, N.J. — After more than a decade of leadership and expansive growth at the helm of Hawthorne Services, Bruce Stoehr, the group’s president, is retiring. He is handing the reins to Dan Stoddard, an expert in fueling and facilities operations, who will lead Hawthorne Services as general manager and vice president. Acquired in 2012, Hawthorne Services is a division of Louis Berger’s services operations that provides skilled technical services in facility and fueling operations at airfields, military bases and state highway facilities.
“When Bruce indicated that he wanted to retire, we both recognized Dan Stoddard as an ideal successor,” said Andrew V. Bailey, president of Louis Berger’s services operating company. “As the new leader of Hawthorne, Dan brings his significant experience delivering exceptional service to civilian and military clients around the world.”
As president of Hawthorne Services, Stoehr greatly expanded the group’s facility support and fuel services capabilities, growing Hawthorne from $1 million to $16 million in revenues, while maintaining quality of service. Stoddard is now building on this positive momentum and aims to accelerate the group’s growth.
Stoddard has more than 20 years’ experience leading diverse and complex engineering, construction and facilities management organizations in the federal market. Since joining Louis Berger in 2013, he has paired a strong client focus with an intimate knowledge of federal acquisition processes to improve Hawthorne Services’ operations, increase proposal competitiveness and manage several major contracts.
Stoddard earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University and a master’s degree in ocean and coastal engineering from the University of Florida. He is also a professional engineer in the state of Virginia.
