MORRISTOWN, N.J.—The Louis Berger Group, Inc. today announced the Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) entered into November 5, 2010 with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey has expired. The company successfully completed the terms of agreement under the DPA in November 2012, and received a Notice of Dismissal of the Complaint filed by the U.S. District Court of New Jersey.
“We have taken significant steps to successfully complete the DPA and to establish a sustainable, global compliance program,” said Larry D. Walker, The Louis Berger Group President. “As part of the company’s original commitment under the DPA, we will continue to work with the U.S. Department of Justice and other government agencies to ensure that any compliance issues identified during the investigation and thereafter are addressed through our continuous improvement efforts. During the past 24 months, our company has invested approximately $20 million in management, systems, processes and training improvements."
Systems investments include new accounting systems, electronic expense report and invoicing systems, centralized information management systems, a new FAR-compliant procurement system and a new budgeting and forecasting system.
“While exiting the DPA is an important milestone, executing an effective compliance system and promoting the highest standards of ethical and legal conduct will remain a focus for us in our ongoing cooperation with the government," Walker added. “LBG is now operating with the confidence that our organizational support systems have caught up with the technical excellence and project delivery expertise of our people.“
