PARIS — Société du Grand Paris (SGP) have awarded Louis Berger and its joint-venture partners two contracts for the development of a new automatic metro named Grand Paris Express. One association (Proxemys Assystem, Antea Group and Louis Berger) will deliver engineering services. The other consortium (Louis Berger, Gowling WLG, Sites, SCP Diebold & Associés) will provide legal technical assistance prior to construction.
“We are proud to be associated with the development of the Grand Paris Express, which is key to boosting the economic growth, mobility and attractiveness of the Île-de-France region,” said Jacques Blanc, senior vice president. “We also are excited to support this large scale initiative, which involves numerous engineering and legal resources working in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders.”
Grand Paris Express includes six metro lines — four new and two modernized — and nearly 70 stations connecting the Grand Paris clusters with the three Parisian airports and France's intercity high-speed rail (TGV) stations.
Louis Berger has worked in France for 30 years, where the firm provides project management services in the urban development and transport markets.
