Ammann & Whitney and Louis Berger Group combine to form Louis Berger U.S.
MORRISTOWN, N.J. — Louis Berger, a global infrastructure and development firm, today announced the integration of two operating companies – Louis Berger Group and Ammann & Whitney – to form Louis Berger U.S., a newly consolidated Louis Berger entity serving U.S. clients nationwide and internationally. The integration takes effect July 2, 2016.
“Ammann & Whitney has been part of the Louis Berger family for more than two decades, and has faithfully served its clients and their projects with a level of skill, expertise and insight rarely found in the industry,” said Tom Lewis, president of Louis Berger’s U.S. operating company. “The integration follows many years of working together and an intensive period of planning and business analysis prior to the official merger to ensure a seamless transition for clients and employees alike.”
“This is a real example of where 1 + 1 = 3,” said Nick Ivanoff, former president and CEO of Ammann & Whitney and Louis Berger’s new U.S. transportation market sector lead. “By combining Louis Berger’s U.S. footprint and reputation with Ammann & Whitney’s specialized structural engineering expertise, Louis Berger’s new U.S. operation is able to provide a stronger bench of specialized talent to U.S. clients within the United States and abroad. We also are able to provide our employees a broader range of dynamic career opportunities working on some of the most high-profile and exciting engineering projects in the country.”
Founded in 1946, Ammann & Whitney was built on a storied legacy for its engineering of long span suspension bridges, specialized cable-supported structures, blast resistant/hardened structures, seismic design and historic buildings and monuments. Despite the integration, the Ammann & Whitney name will not disappear completely. In honor of the long-span bridge tradition established by Othmar Ammann, Louis Berger will maintain an Ammann & Whitney-specialized long span bridge division within its U.S. operation.
Louis Berger comprises three operating companies: U.S., International and Services. The U.S. operation is focused on U.S. clients domestically and abroad. The International operation serves non-U.S. clients. The Services operation is focused on global delivery of operations and maintenance services.
