WASHINGTON, DCThe United States Army has awarded The Louis Berger Group a nationwide contract to prepare environmental assessments and environmental impact statements for multiple installations in the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska and possibly U.S. territorial sites in Guam and Puerto Rico. The contract provides for a base period through May 2014 and two option periods and carries a total value of $35 million.

Under a multiple award Blanket Purchase Agreement, LBG will work with the Mission and Installation Contracting Command Center-Fort Sam Houston and the U.S. Army Environmental Command to develop compliance documentation under the National Environmental Policy Act. LBG’s range of services will include identification and consolidation of existing site studies and information; guidance of field investigation and studies; development of environmental analysis and finalizing NEPA documents; organization and oversight of public involvement activities; and meetings with other federal and governmental agencies, Native American tribes and other stakeholders.

Dana Otto, vice president of energy and environmental planning at the Louis Berger Group, commented on the importance of this award in light of LBG’s work with the Department of the Army on environmental planning and NEPA compliance projects. “We are extremely excited to put our expertise in NEPA compliance to work for the Department of the Army.  We look forward to tackling the challenges often faced when completing NEPA compliance and providing the Army legally-defensible documents that allow them to meet their mission requirements.”
